Adult Sequence dancing Adult Sequence Dancing
Although similar to ballroom dancing, sequence dancing sees all the dancers making the same steps at the same time. The club meets from 1.00pm to 3.00pm every Monday at the Centre. Alma leads the dancers and teaches a new dance every few weeks. If you want to come and join in, the cost is £1.50, including a cup of tea and biscuits. There is also the opportunity to buy a ticket for the weekly raffle. Sequence Dancing is a good way of getting some exercise and meeting new friends.
Hot Steps School of Dance Hot Steps School of Dance
ISTD and RAD syllabus Principal Leigh Young . Ballet, tap, modern and jazz dance for ages two and a half upwards. Classes are run on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday evenings and Saturday morning. They are made fun and enjoyable with an aim to taking ISTD exams (although not compulsory). With the parents and students agreement we enter students into dancing festivals in southern England. We will also be holding shows in local theatres, in which all children have the opportunity to take part. Next year we will be starting adult jazz classes. If you have run out of ideas for your childrens birthdays try our dance and craft parties. Dancing is a fun way of keeping fit and a great way of building a child's confidence! Sea scouts
Black Dam Sea Scouts
The Group has two sections of boys and girls. Cubs age 8 to 12 1/2 and Scouts aged 10 1/2 to 14. So what is the difference between Scouts and Sea Scouts? None really, we are all members of the family of the National Scouting Association. We do wear a slightly different uniform, but we follow the same Scout training programme as all other Scouts, and edge towards more water activities. Also our ceremonies have a slight nautical flavour to the them, such as at flag break when we "Pipe" the colours.
